Vietri has legacy and it all started with a family of three women inspired by Italian culture. Susan, Frances, and their mother Lee Gravely ventured to Italy in the early ‘80s and fell in love with the Italian mantra of slowing down and cherishing moments with family and friends, especially around the dinner table.
The women went to lunch and were captivated by their hotel’s handcrafted dinnerware. Each piece told a story and like Italian culture was colorful and decadent that it made the family gathering even more special.
They visited the nearby factory that had supplied the dinnerware, and thus a business was born. The women wanted to share this experience back home. The trio named their company Vietri, not only a tribute to the Italian town they had visited, but also playing on the phrase “tre vite,” which is Italian for “three lives.”
Vietri has become the largest importer of handcrafted Italian tableware and home decor products. They work with artisan businesses that are family-owned and operating out of Italy. Their colorful, mixed patterned pieces continue to celebrate the simple act of sharing a meal with family and friends and inspire conversations that are often lost with the day to day hustle and bustle that is life.
Whether you’re bringing the family together for dinner or hosting brunch with friends, place Vietri on the table for a dining experience you’ll never forget and will want to have over and over again.
